Join Garden Hours at the SPECO Lot of Love Garden
Looking for a meaningful way to give back this summer? Come get your hands in the dirt and your heart in the community at the Lot of Love Garden with St. Peter’s Episcopal Community Outreach (SPECO)! Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just curious about growing food, you're welcome to join us during Garden Hours.
Garden Hours are open times when community members can drop in to help maintain our shared space. It’s a great opportunity to learn, lend a hand, and connect with others working to grow something good—literally!
When Are Garden Hours?
Garden Hours occur regularly throughout the week. These are designated times when a Garden Leader is on-site and ready to guide you. Whether you have 15 minutes or an hour, your help is appreciated.
- Sundays: 12:30PM-2PM
- Tuesdays: 11AM - 1PM
- Fridays: 8AM - 9:30AM
What to Expect When You Arrive:
To keep the garden thriving and organized, here are a few things to remember:
-
Sign in using the sheet located in the shed when you arrive.
-
Tend to public beds only—these are marked with green tape or left unmarked.
-
Please do not work in claimed beds—these are marked with orange tape and are maintained by individual gardeners.
-
Need guidance? Ask a Garden Leader or check the task list posted inside the shed.
-
Unsure if we’re open? Weather, illness, or travel can occasionally impact Garden Hours. If you're unsure, just message us or check our social media stories for updates.
Why It Matters:
The Lot of Love Garden provides fresh produce and green space for our neighbors. Every weed pulled, seed planted, and bed watered makes a difference. By volunteering during Garden Hours, you're helping nurture food access, community wellness, and neighborhood pride.
Let’s grow together. Join us at the Lot of Love Garden.
